About the Project
This project brings together early 20th-century Futurist ideas about the need to revolutionize fashion with unconventional, high-tech, but also highly functional materials and the dramatization of those ideas in the groundbreaking, mid-20th century science fiction TV serial Star Trek: The Original Series. Inspired by the gown of jewel-like visual sensors that a blind character wears on that show to navigate her world, the artist created an advertisement for the sensor array fabric that dramatizes Futurist politics and aesthetics.
