The Alumni Advisory Board serves as a vital connection between our School and our accomplished alumni. Board members:

  • Provide strategic guidance to the Chair of LMC in strengthening our academic programs
  • Help foster meaningful connections between current LMC students and alumni
  • Support initiatives for student professional development
  • Assist in building a robust alumni network for mentorship and career opportunities

Jhazzy Joiner

Jhazzy Joiner, LMC 2020

Graduate Student, Ph.D. Program in Communication Studies at Georgia State University

Jhazzy Joiner is a doctoral student in communication studies with a background in communication and gerontology. She has worked with organizations such as Second Wind Dreams and the Atlanta Regional Commission, where she supported outreach, marketing, and community engagement initiatives. Her interests center on narrative, cultural expression, and community-building, particularly regarding Black womanhood.

 


 

Susan Robinson

Susan J. Robinson, Ph.D. DM 2015

Producer/Writer & Consultant

Susan J. Robinson is a media maker and consultant for community engagement, with a focus on mixed-methods research and participatory frameworks. Her feature documentary, Building Bombs, was nominated for an Academy Award in the Documentary Feature category. Her domain expertise covers digital media, public health and risk communication, and environmental issues.

 


 

Marsalis Batts

Marsalis Batts, LMC 2024

Technical Product Owner

Marsalis Batts is a technical product owner who's spent the last few years figuring out how to make AI actually useful for the people who have to work with it. He recently founded Paca Technologies, an endurance analytics platform built for competitive athletes, and works at the intersection of tech, health, and human performance as a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. 

 

 

 


 

Bill DavisBill Curtis-Davidson, Information Design and Technology (now Digital Media) 1998

Executive Director, Georgia Tech Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation

Bill Curtis-Davidson serves as the executive director and principal research scientist at the Georgia Tech Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation (CIDI), where he leads applied research, service, and education initiatives that advance accessible technology. Beginning his career in 1998 as a research scientist focused on assistive technology and user-centered design, he has since held influential roles across industry and emerging technology, including leadership positions at IBM, Level Access, and Magic Leap. His work spans accessible product design in aviation, consumer electronics, enterprise hardware, and extended reality (XR). A certified AI governance professional and ForHumanity Certified Auditor & Fellow, he has contributed to award‑winning policy and standards efforts with OECD, NIST, PEAT, PAI, and ForHumanity. He also serves as an appointed member of the Georgia Technology Authority’s AI Advisory Council.

 


 

Katrina Horowitz Katrina Horowitz, LMC with a minor in Economics 2021

Treasury Manager at The Coca-Cola Company

A specialist in foreign exchange and commodity risk management, Katrina monitors financial markets to stay aware of potential price impacts and develops and executes strategies for risk mitigation. She earned her bachelor’s in Literature, Media, and Communication and minor in Economics at Georgia Tech in 2021. She also holds a master’s in Applied Quantitative Finance from the University of Denver. 

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and watching a great show or reading a great book.

 


 

Sarah MallorySarah W. Mallory, STC 2003

Annette and Oscar de la Renta Assistant Curator of Drawings and Prints at the Morgan Library & Museum

Sarah W. Mallory is the Annette and Oscar de la Renta Assistant Curator of Drawings and Prints at the Morgan Library & Museum. Sarah previously held positions at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Frick Collection, and Harvard Art Museums, among other institutions. She earned her PhD from Harvard University and has M.A. degrees from Parsons the New School for Design and The Institute of Fine Arts at New York University. Her scholarship, which focuses on sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Dutch and Flemish art, environmental histories, and colonial legacies, has appeared in numerous publications. She recently co-edited and co-authored the volume Art Museums and the Legacies of the Dutch Atlantic Slave Trade (Brill, 2025). Sarah is a proud graduate of Georgia Tech, having graduated in 2003 with a degree in Science, Technology, and Culture. In 2024 she received an Ivan Allen College Distinguished Alumni Award from the School of Literature, Media, and Communication.
