Overview
Malaka Friedman earned her Ph.D. from the Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media program at North Carolina State University. Her pedagogy and research focus on literacy development, technical communication, issues with access to communication development, multimodality, and creating spaces of support for individuals within and outside academia. She has published several works in The Journal of Multimodal Rhetorics, Contemporary Trends in Conflict and Communication: Technology and Social Media, Routledge Reader: Ethical Considerations of Virtual Reality in the College Classroom as well colloborating on two invited teaching publications for the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Trust for the Humanities partnership K-12 teaching resources website EDSITEment.
